Big bowl size is a measurement Jonathan uses for making dishes for potlucks. I think the big bowl I have in mind is approximately one gallon—I'll measure it and post pictures at some point.

Advantages of making recipes in big bowl size

  • enough for a party of lots of people (potlucks etc)
  • even at big parties, people usually get as much as they want
  • plenty of leftovers for people to take home
  • leftovers for yourself
